Whitespace Work Software Ltd is pleased to announce that we have been awarded a waste management contract with Serco to support its Hart and Basingstoke and Deane operation.
Serco have been selected to provide waste services and Whitespace will deliver the software infrastructure to help Serco and the councils manage the service effectively.
Our products will help the council streamline their services, increase the speed of processing data and provide accurate reporting on waste targets.
The Organisation
Hart District Council and Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council are local authorities within Hampshire, England. They have a combined population of over 260,000 residents and spread over 328 square miles.
The Challenge
Collections in both councils have been operated by Veolia since 2011.However following an extensive procurement process the contract was awarded to Serco for their rich experience and ability to deliver high quality resident focused waste service.
The Solution
Serco are experts in designing, implementing and managing waste and recycling services, with a capability spanning collection, treatment, processing and disposal. They work closely with local authorities and residents to minimise waste and maximise participation in recycling.
Serco provides waste management services to local authorities across the UK including Sandwell, Breckland, Milton Keynes and Havering Whitespace is a key partner in modernising the systems behind the services, playing a vital role in the management and integration of Serco’s services. With an array of successfully implemented projects, our solutions have been tested and proven to deliver efficiencies across the board.
The following Whitespace products will be implemented by Serco and integrated with the councils’ system to help them manage their services:
Whitespace Municipal – to meet the back-office requirements for managing household waste collections
Whitespace Mobile – to link the crew to the back office and deliver the in-cab operations and vehicle checks
Whitespace Analytics – to provide end-users with easy to use business intelligence tools and management reporting capability
