Whitespace Work Software Ltd is pleased to announce that we have been awarded a waste management contract with FCC Environment to support their services at East Northants.
The new seven year contract due to commence 30th July 2018, will see FCC deliver waste, recycling and street cleansing services, for which Whitespace will provide the software infrastructure to help FCC and East Northants manage their services effectively.
The Organisation
East Northamptonshire (officially “The District of East Northamptonshire”) is a local government district in Northamptonshire, England. Its council is based in Thrapston and Rushden. It has a population of over 86,000 residents and covers an area of 460 square miles.
The Challenge
Kier previously held the waste and recycling services contract with East Northants which began in 2011. After a tender process, the new contract, which has been valued at £20 million, has been awarded to FCC Environment. The contract is estimated to save council tax payers over £3 million over its seven year duration.
The Solution
FCC Environment is one of the UK’s leading waste and resource management companies. Their approach is to minimise the amount of waste that ends up in landfill by transforming it into valuable resources wherever possible.
Whitespace’s products have already been implemented in several of FCC’s operations across the UK, including Hereford, Market Harborough, South Ribble, Wychavon and more.
The implementation at East Northants will see FCC implementing Whitespace Municipal, to meet the back-office requirements for the management of household waste collections.
