Whitespace Work Software Ltd is delighted to announce it will be working with Serco Limited to support its Windsor and Maidenhead operations from October 2019.
Over the eight-year contract, Whitespace will support Serco through its innovative Whitespace system which will help Serco provide efficient services to the residents of Windsor and Maidenhead.
The Organisation
The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead has a population of 150,000. It is one of eight boroughs designated as Royal Boroughs and is home to Windsor Castle, Eton College, LEGOLAND and Ascot Racecourse.
The Challenge
The Royal Borough underwent a robust procurement for a new collections contractor. A key requirement for the council was to introduce an efficient software system that would cope with the rigorous waste collection and ad-hoc collection services, especially during events hosted through the year and the influx of tourists.
The council also wanted the new contractor to engage with the residents, using innovative means to encourage more recycling and reduce contamination
The Solution
Serco are experts in designing, implementing and managing waste and recycling services, with a capability spanning collection, treatment, processing and disposal. Putting the resident the centre of the way services are delivered, they work closely with local authorities to engage with residents to minimise waste and drive up recycling. They provide waste management services to 21 local authorities across the UK including Sandwell, Milton Keynes, Rushmoor and joint service contract with Hart and Basingstoke and Deane. Whitespace is a key partner modernising the systems behind the services, playing a vital role in the management and integration of their services. With an array of successfully implemented projects, our solutions have been tested and proven to deliver efficiencies across the board.
The following Whitespace products will be implemented by Serco and integrated with the councils’ system to help them manage their services:
- Whitespace Municipal Waste– to meet the back-office requirements for managing household waste collections
- Whitespace Mobile In-Cab– to link the crew to the back office and deliver the in-cab operations and vehicle checks
- Whitespace Analytics– to provide end-users with easy to use business intelligence tools and management reporting capability
